In June 2013, after a lot of pursuance by activists and residents, a Committee set up by Hon’le Lt. Governor with residents, activists, scientist as its members. We expected that DDA would work on advise of this committee. Inspite of all persuasion by the Committtee members , its been a vary sad chapter till now. Its been almost a year but no significant progress has been made till now. Not a single water body in Dwarka can be said to be revived. The members strongly made their protest known to the Chief Engineer, Dwarka. Matter was covered in the media too.
At last, some action seem to be happening. Mr AK Chopra, Executive Engineer has been specially appointed for the job to revive the water bodies.
On 28th May, Superintendent Engineer, Mr. Subhas Verma, along with his team of engineers, made a visit to all the water bodies that have best chances of revival before these monsoons start. We expect at least 5-6 water bodies are revived in true sense i.e they have fresh water through out the year.
